4th Fest 5k

Coralville, IA, June 29, 2013. 65 ish degrees, a bazillion percent humidity, grey skies. 8:00 am

Pre race: Small race, could still register same day. Pre-registered runners had to fill out name and info on the bib, cotton t-shirts for first 75. Was only $15.

Race: Short announcements and we start on schedule. Course was on pavement and sidewalk. Lots of Hills! 2 water stops, with plastic cups. Well marked with traffic cones and arrows on the pavement. No mile markers.  Major intersections had a volunteer. Did I mention hills? Finishing shoot was hard to determine where actual finish was, had to tear off bib for results.

Post race: Water, yellow sports drink, watermelon and oranges. The kids run was after the 5k. Awards plaques given for AG and overall winners in the parking lot. No times announced.

Personal Notes: I ran with a friend to the race to get our training miles in. The race was small and super hilly. I would run it again, but not a bucket list type of event.  Would be nice to see the field of participants increase a little.
