#runchat Scavenger Hunt

I love a good scavenger hunt, marry that with running and BAM you have awesomesauce! It’s also known as the #runchat scavenger hunt, you can find the details here.

Here are my findings:

Picture with a running stranger. Note I found 2 strangers, I think I get bonus points!

Local coffee house. We ran by 4 on one run, but only stopped to take photos at 3.

Railroad tracks / Crossing. There were a lot on today’s route, we only posed for a few pictures

Body of Water. We ran around Sand Lake and along the Iowa River (Bonus the bridge is a railroad bridge)

Port-o-potty. Had some fun with this one.

Mile marker, trail marker.

Inflatable Decorations: All I found were deflated ones

BONUS! The unofficial roadkill

A Snowman. It was super cold and windy for this run, negative wind chill

Santa! HO-HO-HO! Bonus he is actually a running stranger

Animal on a farm. I never found one, and I live in Iowa. I guess a milk semi drove by one day with a cow on the farm as the trailer image, but I never snapped a picture. I also have been running on the treadmill at the gym where I have seen numerous bald eagles.  Oh and I found this “animal” on the treadmill, Roar!

  1. ON IOWA!! I am a student at the University of Iowa and I loved the pictures of the things I see daily 😉 especially Fairgrounds – that place has amazing vegan waffles haha I am a runner and do a lot of my training in the IC so those trails are all super familiar!

  2. Scavenger hunt sounds fun and a great way to keep running interesting! Hope I can steal the idea 🙂
