Steamazing

“Disclaimer: I received Luvo Meals to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

Hey all! I have something a little different to review and share with you, Luvo frozen meals. I will be honest, I was most excited to try these because I have become lazy at lunch time, these would be perfect to eat at work, with no meal prep required.

You can read all about the Luvo Philosophy here, however the bottom line: food that is nutritious, delicious, easy to cook, and contains real ingredients. Hey, that’s totally what I want and need!!

Are you thinking, how are they different if they are just another frozen meal? Ha, I am here to tell you. These meals I was able to try, cook in a steam pouch, with “steamazing” technology. There is no second guessing which plastic film to pull off, or stirring the entree. The pouch which has the cooking directions, just steams the food, simple! Then you just cut the end, and it slides out on your plate, looking like an actual meal….with real food… oh wait, that’s cuz it is real food.

Speaking of real food, Luvo uses whole grains, veggies and protein. No trouble reading ingredients on the label. If anything, they have introduced me to eating things I have never tried, or never thought to try. Also using these real ingredients allows the meals to be lower in calories, vegetarian or gluten free.

So, what meals did I try? Well you might have noticed in the picture above… but I will tell you:

Steel-Cut Oatmeal with quinoa and mixed fruit. This was my first meal. My meals arrived the night before and I was excited to have something easy to prepare for breakfast. I am not a huge oatmeal person, unless it’s ruined with something sugary. I was happily surprised with this meal, in fact I think it’s my fave! The fruits (pineapple, cranberries, pears and peaches) are all the sweetness the meal needs. It’s like cobbler without ice cream. You can see how easy it was to cook in this awesome video 🙂

Next up, lunch!! Chicken Chile Verde with black beans and polenta. Now, I am not a fan of chicken breast, I think it’s too dry, however the steam cooking technology provided a moist chicken. I also had never had polenta before, and I enjoyed that. One thing I noticed is the meals don’t have any salt or pepper type seasonings, so if you need that, you can add what you like.

It was a full day of Luvo only meals, as that night I had the Red Wine Braised Beef & Polenta with Brussels sprouts, butternut squash and cranberries. This meal was good, and I reaffirmed the fact that I do not care for Brussels sprouts, but it did have me wondering if I could make a pot roast with cranberries and apples.

It also happened to be the day of a late basketball game, which meant supper at 10pm. I let Josh try a meal too, the Kale Ricotta Ravioli. Ok, full disclosure… I do not like marinara sauce or tomato sauce really…so this meal was all his. I did try the sauce to make sure, and it wasn’t for me. However, Josh who would love for me to make him lasagna, loved this dish.

Now, I am marathon training (always)… if you have been clicking on the highlighted links above, you might notice the calorie counts. In one day 3 meals is about 900 calories, so I had to add some more food to my diet. However these are perfect if you need to cut a few pounds, portion control is my biggest problem and these contain lots of nutrients with low calories.

I was able to try a couple more meals. I tried the Orange Mango Chicken with whole grains, kale and broccoli. Once again I loved how the chicken was moist, and the sweetness of the mango was perfect. It was great for lunch!

The last meal I tried was the Tandoori Inspired Spice Chicken with mango, brown rice, broccoli and cauliflower. It was another late basketball night, and I loved that in 5 minutes a nutritious meal was cooked. No chopping or dicing of vegetables required. This meal had a kick, definitely some spices in there, it packed a punch, I felt myself wanting more.

Overall thoughts: I really liked the ease of preparing these meals, and knowing I was getting lots of proteins and veggies too. I personally need more calories in a day, and I might add a little salt or pepper. If you like easy cooking, or need quick meals, check out the store locator and the website for some coupons.

I would like to add a note, once you find a store in your area, please call them ahead of your shopping trip, to make sure they have them in stock.

I had my sister do some scouting of the stock where she lives. I need to go on a road trip to try some of the other meals that are offered, especially the bowls. They look great and the price is comparable to other frozen meals.

Also unique to Luvo, they just started direct delivery to your doorstep. You can choose from 8 meals, and for all orders over $28.99, shipping is only $9.99. That’s right you don’t have to fight the people at the grocery store.

If you do find yourself at the grocery store, don’t forget to add the app to your phone too, you can find out if the food you are buying is good for you. Just head to your app store and search for “Luvo CheckIt”

I would also encourage you to follow Luvo on their social media channels, they host twitter chats, giveaways on Facebook, recipes on the blog, and appetizing photos on Instagram.

XX2i France 2 Sunglasses

xx2i France 2 Sunglasses – Product Review

“Disclaimer: I received the xx2i Optics France2 Sunglasses to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

img_2686
Wahoo… more sunglasses… What can I say… I am a believer in protecting my eyes when I run, so when I saw the chance to test this model from xx2i, I jumped on board.

I was given the Hyper Orange with Orange Flash Lens with white tips.  They come in a “tank protector case” with a microfiber soft carrying case, that doubles as a cleaning cloth. This pair also comes with additional tips and temples.

Initially I was shocked by the color, it was very bright orange, and the lenses were flashy as stated in the description. I know that XX2i makes great products so I was going to put the colors behind me and give them a proper test, plus the lens color was different than I already own. I also noticed how light weight they were.

I took them on their maiden voyage. A local 5k. It was unseasonably warm and sunny that day. I could see how they held up with sweat and slipping on my face. I was also curious to see if they fit with a hat.

I always end up running with Monty, lol!! I am happy to report – I really didn’t know I was wearing these glasses. They fit wonderfully, no slipping and just where I needed them under the bill of my hat.

img_2880

I have been running in them ever since.

I wore them at another race, the Mardi Gras Chaser 10k. It was cold, and it wasn’t even sunny. However, I needed to protect my eyes in the wind. These did just that, and at no time did I think they would blow off my face.

I have only noticed some fogging of the lenses if I stop running on a cold day and my face is sweaty. If I start running again, the fogging goes away. I can easily squeeze the nose pads to raise them higher off my face if needed.

img_3385
As you saw above they come with interchangeable nose pads and temples. I don’t think red or blue goes with neon orange, so I don’t plan on changing them out. However, I would like to note, XX2i builds their glasses so you can get what you want as far as changing colors and parts.

You can also change the lenses. As mentioned these have the orange flash lens, and to me this lens mutes out red colors, and kind of makes colors less vibrant, to reduce squinting. I have been fortunate to test other XX2i sunglasses and they have had the blue flash lens (which are my favorite, I don’t see different colors through this one), and the polar brown lenses (these brighten things for me when I look through them.) They all reduce glare.

While I was shocked by bright color, I am happy to add them to my flashy wardrobe. These fit great, you don’t even know they are on your face. XX2i makes quality products.

If you would like to get your own pair you can do that for $59.99 right here on their website – http://www.xx2i.com/collections/france2

Did I mention they have a lifetime warranty? “All XX2i sunglasses come with a no questions asked Lifetime Warranty! No matter if your dog chewed on them (which we hear a lot!) or if you drove over them in your SUV, we’ll replace them for a nominal shipping and handling fee of $19.95″

BUT WAIT…. THERE’S MORE – code “marchbibrave” will get you 50% off until March 28 at http://www.xx2i.com/

Ok, so I haven’t convinced you to get a pair? Check out what my fellow pros have to say: VanessaJessica – Mai – Amy – Tedrick – MattHeather

Nugo Bars

NUGO DARK BARS – Review

“Disclaimer: I received a variety pack of Nugo Nutrition Dark Bars to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

YUM! – the end…ok I will write an actual review of these bars, but spoiler alert, I love em!

I have done reviews of other bars, and eaten my share of bars.Especially those that boast about protein or their health benefits. Most of them taste like cardboard and are made of that nougat like mush crap. Well, enter Nugo Nutrition and their delicious bars.

What sets them apart, IMO, is they aren’t a mush center or that weird substance that you just can’t place, and you are not sure what you are eating. Basically these are like dark chocolate covered crispy treats, or a candy bar.

From the Nugo website, they highlight why they are different:

  • REAL Dark Chocolate isn’t just a delectable treat with delicious flavor. It’s a heart-healthy, antioxidant-rich superfood, and a staple ingredient in many NuGo bars. Research has shown that REAL Dark Chocolate may help maintain good cholesterol (HDL),* lower blood pressure, elevate mood, reduce stress, and increase endurance when consumed before a workout. So if you want to lead a healthy life, get REAL. Get NuGo.
  • At NuGo, we never put our bottom line above the best interests of our customers. For our REAL dark chocolate, we only source the best, natural cocoa solids and combine them with creamy cocoa butter, so that every bite is full of decadent flavor. Other companies cut costs by mixing their cocoa solids with vegetable fats like palm kernel oil to make imitation chocolate without the taste, texture or health benefits of REAL chocolate.
  • At NuGo Nutrition, we believe that the freshest, healthiest ingredients are also the best tasting. We are passionate about keeping families active and healthy, which is why we’re so committed to keeping GMOs, artificial hormones, stomach-upsetting maltitol, and artificial sweeteners out of NuGo products. When you give your child a NuGo bar (or grab one for yourself), you can be confident that you’re getting only the best naturally delicious ingredients in every bite.

Also please note these dark bars have 10 grams of protein, they are non GMO, vegan and gluten free!!

I received 12 bars – 3 bars in 4 different flavors:

Mint Chocolate Chip: the mix of mint an dark chocolate is just right, this was a favorite to drink with my coffee. This has 1 gram of fiber and 14 grams of sugar.

Chocolate Pretzel with sea salt: spoiler alert this one is my favorite. The mix of sweet and salty is my jam! This has 2 grams of fiber and 15 grams of sugar.

Chocolate Coconut: I didn’t get an overwhelming coconut flavor, or one that stands out. I still really enjoyed this one, but I loved all the dark bars I have tried. This has 1 gram of fiber and 15 grams of sugar.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip: This one is most similar to a candy bar for me. If you are on the fence, I would try this bar first, it’s just chocolaty and crispy. This bar has one gram of fiber and 14 grams of sugar.

I found myself eating these each morning, usually as a pre-breakfast, before my run. They paired nicely with coffee. I also used them as a road trip snack, brought them to a basketball game and I ate them before running a half marathon.

Before I knew it, I had no bars left! Never fear, I can buy them at my local grocery store, just a half mile from my house, and they are only $1.49 each. This is when I was introduced to 2 more flavors:

Spicy Chocolate: I just had to try this flavor, cuz why not, and it intrigued me. It really wasn’t spicy hot to me, it was more of a cinnamon and chocolate. So shake things up, give this one a try. This bar has 2 grams of fiber and 15 grams of sugar.

Mocha Chocolate: This one was good, but I really didn’t get a strong mocha flavor, however I did eat this one with my morning coffee, so maybe the flavor cancelled each other out. This bar has 2 grams of fiber and 14 grams of sugar.

They also make other types of bars too, I picked up the peanut butter offering, but it was not the one that is part of the dark series, it was good, but it wasn’t my favorite. There is a peanut butter dark bar, I need to try one of those. That dark chocolate really makes a difference in that weird protein aftertaste that can happen with regular protein bars.

I think the only downside to the dark bar is they have, what I feel is a lot of sugar. However, I am not going to eat something that tastes like cardboard but contains no sugar. I need a protein bar I am going to eat, these are delicious and a treat! (There is the Nugo Slim, for a less sugar option – 2 or 3 grams and more fiber -, adding to the list of bars to try)

If you haven’t picked up that I like these…did you even read this? I would totally recommend trying these bars. Here is a store locator – https://www.nugonutrition.com/where-to-buy/ – Or you can purchase them online, – https://www.nugonutrition.com/ – and if you do, use code BIBRAVE1 to save 15% off the dark bar boxes. (This is valid through February 8th, 2017)

Some of the other pros were able to test these too, check out their thoughts: FrankGina Brad – Casey – Emily – Heather – Kolbe – ShannonCarolyn

Runner Box

RUNNER BOX – Review

“Disclaimer: I received a Runner Box to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

I like subscription boxes, and was excited to get a chance to review RunnerBox. I think what I like most about this is I get to try things I wouldn’t normally purchase, or I don’t have to purchase a case to try a sample.

From the website :

What is The RunnerBox?

The RunnerBox is a subscription based box full of products and discounts which have been hand-picked to enhance your active lifestyle. The Runnerbox has everything from gels, chews, protein shakes/supplements, nutrition bars, energy boosters, healthy snacks, personal care, and other running accessories! Many products will be brand new to the market while others will be tried and true favorites. With so many new products claiming to be the next best thing – leave the trials and testing to us – we’ll search out the finest and send them right to your doorstep!

RunnerBox also offers other options too: the Cycle Box, the TriBox, Birthday Box, Gift Box or a gift card. So maybe you need a one time box or are looking for a gift for your favorite runner.

JUST IN: Limited Edition Valentines Box!

The box was small when it came to my door, it actually fit in my mailbox. However, don’t let the size fool you, it’s neatly packed to the brim, complete with an inspirational quote on the inside lid. There are also coupons stuffed inside along with information about each product.

Now that you know what it is, I will have tell you about the items in the box I received. Also because I have received many things, I haven’t had a chance to give them all a test, I will add my comments at a later date.

Banza Chickpea Mac and Cheese. This is one of those products, that I would be curious to try, but not sure if I would actually purchase it, or I would be able to find it in my area. I am glad this kind of item was in the box, as I get to try something completely new to me. It was just as easy to make as regular macaroni and cheese from a box. It tasted good, just a little different texture than your standard noodle.

Louva, Shorties…. wrist warmers?  These are like gloves, but don’t cover your fingers or thumbs. I like that there is a gear type product included in the box, it’s not all food. In a way these confuse me, as I need my fingers covered in the cooler weather I run in, so they are for keeping your wrist warm? I tried them in about 30 degrees, and my thumbs were freezing, so maybe that’s too cold for me? I like the idea, but I am just not sure they are for me. They also fuzzed up after one run.

HotShot, to prevent and treat muscle cramps – now this is something I have no clue about. I have yet to try it, but it intrigues me. It’s a liquid you drink, there are 2 bottles included in the Runner Box.

Zest Tea, cinnamon apple. This is tea you steep in hot water, but it’s packed with caffeine!  I haven’t tried this as I reach for my coffee instead in the morning, and forget to try this. I also would rather have tea in the evening, and this has too much caffeine, even for me. I feel tea has more benefits than coffee, and this says it promotes a calm and steady alertness.

BiPro. I received 2 different products from this company. Both are a protein supplement that you can either add to water or mix into a smoothie. First there is bioZzz – instant alpha-lactalbumin supplement which is high in tryptophan, which improves sleep. The second is biPro a whey protein supplement, which is like a protein powder used in smoothies. These products I am familiar with, and are a good fit in the box. Protein powder is a good thing to add to recovery smoothies.

Hyperice. This is a cream for muscles and joints, infused with oils to help with aches and pains. I like that this kind of product is included in the box. I also like to learn about other products of this type on the market.

Oatmega. This is a protein bar, advertised as grass-fed whey, with 14g of protein. I received the chocolate mint crisp flavor. It has 5 g of sugar. I am excited to try this, I love snacks…and I love being introduced to something that is healthier for me. I really hope it is a “crisp” as I am picky with the bars I like. This is an example of something that I am glad I get to try so I don’t have to buy a whole box first.

R.e.d.d. This is an energy bar. YAY, more than one bar, more than one snack!!! I am not familiar with this brand at all. Once again, excited to try something new and not have to buy an entire case. I opened this up and could smell the chocolate. However this is not a bar for me, it’s just too much mush texture.

Chosen Foods, Mango Bites with Chia. MORE SNACKS!!  I tried this snack first, I needed something quick to eat. These are little squares packed with lots of chia and mango flakes, omega 3 fatty acids, low sugar and high fiber. Think of them as little cereal bites. They were good!

Runa Energy Drink. I am not an energy drink person, so this can is still sitting in my refrigerator. It gets caffeine from the guayusa leaf which provides clean and steady energy. I am just not sure if I need this in my diet. I do like that a drink was included in the mix of the box.

I would totally get another box, or subscribe. I feel after choosing to type about all the items in the box you get a great mix of a lot of products. Hello – snacks! If you go for the subscription box, you get a box every 2 months for $20. (that’s $10 per month)

So if you are looking to try new products on the market, don’t want to buy a case to try a sample, or need to purchase a gift for a friend, give RunnerBox a try. Or if you didn’t find what you were looking for with this review, make sure to check out the thoughts from other BibRave Pros: Meredith

Check out RunnerBox on the web, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram

I know I am reviewing the subscription box and not the products, but I like to add my thoughts about the products included. There are quite a few items in the box, I haven’t had a chance to give them all a test, I will add my comments as I try them all.

Epsoak Sport

EPSOAK SPORT – Train Hard, Recover Easy

“Disclaimer: I received an 8.5 lb canister of Epsoak Sport to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

I will admit I am not the best with recovery. I also think it is important as a runner to take care of yourself. I was excited when I got the chance to test Epsoak Sport epsom salts, as taking a bath is a simple way to recover while relaxing.

Not familiar with epsom salts? It’s salt you add to water that helps with aching muscles and allows you to de-stress. Simple.

What is Epsoak Sport? From the website:

Epsoak SPORT is made with premium grade Magnesium Sulfate, a mineral known to minimize muscle cramps, increase recovery rates, and eliminate post-workout slumps.

Soaking is not just necessary to help reduce swelling when you are injured, but is a key component in your post-workout recovery. Soaking should be a routine step in helping your body recover from training so you can detox, recover, and prevent injury.

I received the “soothing” lavender-infused Epsom salt blend ideal for restoration and relaxation soaking. (It also came with a hand written note)

Now…some may laugh, well they did, and they made fun of me….but I couldn’t get my canister open. It has a twist off top. I had my husband give it a try, nothing. So, I took a knife to the top and discovered there was glue on the inside of the lid that was stuck to the liner on the top of the can. While this has nothing to do with the performance of the product, I thought I would share.

Once I got it open, the smell….oh so wonderful….it would travel throughout the house. The lavender essential oils are specifically good for reducing stress, healing wounds, improving sleep and helping with your complexion.

There was also a plastic scoop inside, to easily add the salts to the bath water or foot soak. Four scoops are recommended for the best results.

I took my first soak after a night of baking cookies. It was a simple way to relax. Just fill the tub, add the salt and sit. The salt dissolved easily in the warm water.

I also caught my husband using my salts…hey they are for everyone! I knew he was soaking as I could smell the lavender.

I also saw fellow BibRave Pros using their salts in a face scrub. I gave that a try too, I just added a scoop to my face wash. It was a nice “scrub.” However, I think I would chose the unscented in the future, don’t get it to close to your mouth or eyes.

I have continued to use the salts weekly. I think they have helped with my achy knee. I also like that they are so simple to use. As someone that needs to be doing something all the this, this forces me to take some time to disconnect and relax.

If you didn’t find all the information from this review, make sure to check out the Epsoak website, Instagram, and Facebook pages. Also check out the San Francisco Salt company and their website, Facebook, Instagram and twitter.

Also they are offering a 10% discount with RAVE10 on the Epsoak SPORT 5lb bags in all scents. This can be used on top of the current sale too.

UCAN – snack bar review

UCAN snack bars

Disclaimer: I received a multi pack of the Generation UCAN snack bars to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

I am always looking for something easy when it comes to running and “fueling.” Especially for those weekday runs of 4-8 mile runs, where I run in the morning and don’t want to eat a full breakfast before hitting the pavement. I have done cookies and granola bars, but always looking for a better option.

I was excited when I got the chance to try the UCAN snack bars. The Bibrave Pros had a chance to review the Generation Ucan SuperStarch Drink Mix a few months back and after reading what they had to say, I knew I should give these a try.

Sustaining your blood sugar is the key to maintaining your energy so you can perform your best. UCAN prevents the spike and crash of sugar-based fuels and is gentle on the stomach. No more bonking and GI distress!

First things first, what is SuperStarch? Why is this so special or different?

From www.generationucan.com – This natural, slow-releasing carbohydrate keeps blood sugar stable and delivers steady energy for your brain and body.

The idea behind this bar is that you will be fueled longer and will avoid that sugar high crash. Super starch is a slower process, keeping you energized longer.

Ok, this is great news, you know eating a cookie to fuel…while it could be packed with peanut butter, it contains a lot of sugar.

I received my multi package box the day before I would be leaving to run a trail marathon. As I don’t like to try anything new on race day, the bars had to wait until I got back home.

My First taste:

Aug 23 – Peach Passion Bar with SuperStarch, 15g SuperStarch, 4 g protein, 6 g cocoa butter, 4 g fiber, 170 cals, smells good & peachy, looks strange, like a bar of soap. Tastes fine, but the texture is throwing me off, kinda chalky.

Aug 25- Chocolate bar with SuperStarch, 10g SuperStarch, 6g protein, 4g coconut oil, 5g fiber, 180 cals. Weird texture bar coated in chocolate. Better than peach, not as chalky. I was able to eat 3/4 of the bar and I headed out on a run of about 4 miles. I was hungry when I returned home. However, my metabolism is all screwy from my weird racing schedule and I didn’t eat anything else but this bar.

Sept 6 – Coffee Bean Bar – I opened this with high hopes as it smells soo good! I love coffee!! I am always starving before lunch and need something to hold me over. However, I just can’t get past the texture…so dry and chalk like. 15G SuperStarch 4G protein 6 g cocoa butter 4g fiber.

Sept 13 – Cinnamon Swirl Bar. I am really struggling, but I am remaining optimistic, so I opened this bar and took a bite. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It didn’t have the weird chalky aftertaste texture, or it was covered by the cinnamon. I had a few bites before my 3.36 mile run. I would say this one is my favorite tasting & texture. 13 G SuperStarch, 5 g protein, 6 g cocoa butter, 4 g fiber. 170 calories.

Now, I did consider dipping these in peanut butter…yes, I am that person… I also see there is a Chocolate Peanut Butter bar available. It was not in my multi pack, I would like to try that one too, I would think oils in peanut butter would make it less chalky.

I was just looking at the multi pack available through https://store.generationucan.com/products/barboxmulti and it appears you would receive 10 bars and 2 of each flavor ( peach, cinnamon, coffee bean, chocolate, peanut butter chocolate). If you would like to do this, use code BIBRAVE for 15% savings.

After trying all the flavors I was given. I am not sure I can get passed the texture to enjoy these, or to say they actually work. I am a different breed, I get thrown off by texture, it’s why I don’t like the traditional gel/gu – however many people like those too.

I think I prefer a bar with nuts, seeds or fruit vs this style of bar. I was glad that I had the chance to try these. I think if you are the person who likes the texture of protein bars, these are for you. I do think superstarch is a great way to fuel a run.

If you would like to read more about these, please check out what my fellow Bibrave pros had to say: GINAMARK – HEATHERJESSICABRIANSAMANTHA

Aftershokz goes PINK

Pink Aftershokz Trekz Titanium

“Disclaimer: I received the Aftershokz PINK Trekz Titanium to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!”

You may have heard, bluetooth is my new favorite thing. I scored a pair of Aftershokz Trekz Titanium bluetooth headphones when I ran 5 stages on the United Relay. I have been enjoying them ever since. This post will give them the proper review they deserve. In addition, I am excited to tell you about their partnership with Bright Pink to raise awareness for breast and ovarian cancer.

Background on the head phones: What sets these apart is their bone conduction technology. What is that? “Transducers guide mini vibrations through the cheekbones to the inner ears, delivering sound without plugging or covering them.” What this means is the sound is transferred through your cheek bones. You do not put these in your ears, allowing you to hear your surroundings. Safety first!

So I got these PINK headphones and immediately hooked them to my phone via the wireless bluetooth technology. No problem, they were ready to go, even had a small charge. I just wanted to get them all set up, as I was running a marathon the next day. I had them charge overnight for a full charge.

So what did I receive when I got this set? The set is simple and comes with the charging cord and a soft cloth bag ( there are earplugs pictured, but I didn’t get any with my set). I also received this awesome hard case, which is perfect to store them in! You can get one too (FOR FREE) if you add it to your cart and use the code PINK.

The head phones wrap around the back of your head. There are buttons on each side for you to control them. On the right side you can turn them on & off, as well as turn the volume up and down. This is also where the charging port is hidden. On the outside on the left ear is the control for what you are listening to. This means you can pause or stop play, fast forward or rewind. This also allows you to answer a phone call with just one push of the button.

Here is a brief summary of all the things I have used these for:

  • Run a trail marathon that took me about 7 hours.  No problems. Able to use on airplane mode.Fits with sunglasses and a hat.
  • Mowed the lawn ( on the same charge from the marathon) I mentioned the ear plugs before, they are included to block out the surrounding noise, like when the lawn mower is too loud. I used them for this purpose and it’s s noticeable difference. Also nothing worse than emptying the mower bag and getting tangled in cords, or having the cord get caught on a bush
  • I have use them to do yard work. I like them as I have to keep a hedge trimmed, I don’t have to worry about accidentally cutting a cord.
  • I used them to operate a winch on a truck for communication. I had them on so I could use my phone and communicate with the man on the ground.
  • Also used to take a conference call, put the call on mute and ust listened as I was at work.
  • Used as a walkie-talkie to communicate back and forth on a 300 ft + wire pull. I wish I had my ear plugs so I could have heard better, I stuck my finger in my ear and could hear.
  • Walk the dogs

Only one thing to note, if the phone is too far from the headphones, you might experience some cutting out, or if they are in a pocket and you are bending, I notice some crackling.

I have no idea why the above video us upside down, it was added right side up, so this is a special treat for you!!
Basically I have been wearing these all over the place, listening to music, books, talking on the phone. No issues, great product, light weight. So many uses beyond running. Hands free! I would recommend this product to any active person.

Now – lets talk about the #awarewithpink campaign, and why you should order these limited edition PINK Trekz.

First, I am excited that this campaign is giving back and/or paying it forward. As a human; as a woman; as a woman with friends/family who have been affected by cancer, this means a lot. Who knows, maybe the money raised for research will discover the cure! Or the awareness from this campaign will save someone’s life!

Second, please read this message from Aftershokz – “We’re going pink, but not for the reasons you think” They had pink headphones in the works, so they are not trying to “pinkwash.” They want to create awareness.
