I am not sure the last time I have run indoors, it’s been over a year for sure. As the temperatures heat up, it means less clothing, which means more sun exposure. I was very excited for this opportunity to try out Tanri Outdoors products.

I received a 3 oz tube of Tanri Mineral Based SPF 30 Sunscreen, a 6 oz bottle of SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer, a 6 oz bottle of After Sun Restorative Moisturizer, a tube of Chai SPF 15 Lip Balm, and some fun decals.

The first thing I noticed was the bottles, they are aluminum. These are designed to reduce plastic and you can just order another bottle and re use the pump. Tanri not only cares about the ingredients in their products but about the environmental impact.

The next thing is the sunscreen is mineral based. Why is this important? Mineral sunscreen reflects the UV rays away from your skin versus chemical sunscreens which allow UV to absorb through the skin. This allows the sunscreen to also work immediately. Now that I have looked at the product and read about the product, it was time to put it to the test.

I first opened the lip balm, because when is lip balm ever a bad idea? I first noticed the light “spice” like taste. It also applies very smoothly. I was able to carry it on the run and had no issues. Lip balm is also a great idea when it’s windy. They make a variety of flavors, might have to check them all out. Can you ever have enough lip balm?

I then started used the SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer on my face. It’s easy to apply this as I get ready in the morning. The first observation I noted is the lack of scent, there really isn’t any smell to this. The moisturizer is also not greasy. I did note that it is very thick, or more creamy and a little goes a long way.

It was time to put the SPF 30 Mineral Based Sunscreen to the test with a runch!! Again, the first thing I noticed was the lack of scent, not really any smell. I did notice the sunscreen is thicker and takes a little more effort to rub it all in, but I can definitely see where I have applied it. Another great thing I noticed is my hands are not greasy when I am done applying this.

Don’t forget the tops of your ears!

On the run I don’t even really know it’s on. My pores are allowed to sweat and no weird streaking, no burning in my eyes or running down my face, or strange things happen.

Using this at work is easy, non greasy formula allows my hands to grip my projects.

I will note that I think if you are outside for an extended period of time, you will need to reapply. I found this out the hard way, luckily this allowed me to put the After Sun Restorative Moisturizer to the test. Once again the first thing I noticed with this product was the lack of any odor at all. This was easy to apply, and it felt more like a lotion than a cream. It was not as thick and was easy to apply to the skin. I keep using to avoid the weird peeling and drying out after an unfortunate burn.

I am not the best with applying sunscreen, but having it within arms reach definitely makes it easier. I know that I should be using this everyday. The daily moisturizer and sunscreen are a bit thicker and take a little effort to rub onto the skin. However, there is no strong scent and it’s non greasy. 1% of every sale goes to preserving national parks and forests. Plus it’s made by runners, for runners!

Easily fits in a backpack to take wherever you go
